Deep Fried.

When I go out for sushi, I know the deep fried rolls are always the best.  French fries...onion rings...scones...so good.  Deep fried twinkies...I've never tried them, but I'd venture to guess they would also be delicious. (Twinkies will be back on the shelves in July, so happy birthday to ME and happy birthday to AMERICA.)

You know that moment, when you've been studying your brains out for weeks, and it's the night before your last final, and you just can't process a work of anything.  I think that's how it feels for your brain to be deep fried, and it is not as fun as deep fried foods.

I was going to post so tempting pictures of deep fried food...but that just seems like too much work.

Pathetic

So, sadly this is only the second most pathetic thing I have done this week.

Me eating a lonely, but delicious, crepe at the Crepery.
(This picture is failing because I was trying to be discrete...as I was the only one at the Crepery.)

The winning for the most pathetic part of my week was when I woke on Saturday with nothing to do.  So I went to work.

#springbreak

[We all know that it's actually really awesome (not pathetic) to go out to eat by yourself.]

Drive

I'm obsessed with driving.  I don't know how long I've been this way, but I love long drives.  Maybe this is weird, but on many occasions, I've found myself wishing a long journey could be even longer.

Some conditions do need to be met...

1.
I need to either have my iPod or another good source of music...
or
Be in a car with one or more person whose company I thoroughly enjoy.
Also, probably no one annoying.

2.
I'd prefer to be in the front seat.  Driving or passenger...it doesn't really matter.
Backseat is acceptable, unless it's the way back of a van.  I don't like being carsick.

3.
I don't handle rapid directions very well.  [aka city driving]
But if I'm on a long stretch of road, I'm in h-e-a-v-e-n.

Honestly though...as long as these conditions are met, driving is like one of my favorite activities.

Alone on a drive, I can turn the music up loud, and sing like I never ever would under any other circumstances.  It's liberating.  If I'm upset, there is nothing as soothing as a long drive.  The twenty minute drive out to Wellsville for work is just lovely, it makes my day.

Also, driving with friends is a great pastime.  Obviously there's the example of road trips, which I've said before--I LOVE.  And then there are just drives around town, just chatting, venting, and reminiscing about life.

Well...

Now I want to go on a drive.

Lunch at Work

I have a great job working as an insurance auditor.  However, it's in Wellsville, and the only restaurant within ten minutes of the office is the Burger King.  So everyone who works there has adopted the practice of bringing a lunch to work.  I make a special effort to cook extra food at dinner time to box up for work the next day.

Since eating is the highlight of life, obviously, it is also the highlight of the work day.

Around noon, people start pulling out their lunches, and the microwave starts buzzing.  Soon, the entire small office is filled with the delicious smells of home cooked roast and potatoes, the processed, yet still delicious, scent of steaming hot pockets, the tomatoey aroma of pasta or even worse--pizza.  The list goes on and on, and WOW, it smells amazing.

And this is the downside to lunchtime.  Unless you're the one lucky enough to have brought the tantalizing treat, all you get is to keep working while someone in the office is eating a delicious meal.

And all you have is a can of green beans.

Okay, kind of a lie.  I have brought my fair share of food that smells like heaven on earth.  Sorry.

[But on those green bean days, no one should be allowed to cook Papa John's pizza.  Also...the guy that never brings lunch...crazy.   Even if it's just green beans, you don't know what you're missing by skipping lunchtime.]

Straws and Sushi

I need to remember...whenever I need some excitement in my life, this is the girl to call!

She made a whole list of activities sure to lead to a night of fun.  One of the activities was to go to Dollar Tree...which will clearly always lead to something good.

Crazy Straws?  These take the cake for sure.

The next step in the evening was, of course, sushi.

YUM.

I don't know why Sam and I don't hang out more...clearly we've been having a great time ever since we met.  But I love that ever time we do hang out, it's always a great time, and it's like we never stopped hanging out. She's one of the best friends I've made at Utah State, and I love her!

Boring?

I've pondering on how my life managed to get even less exciting, and less blog-worthy than last semester, since I managed to blog more frequently last semester.  Like, obviously my life got less exciting when moving from Africa back to Logan...the decline in blogging makes sense there.  But from last semester to this one...I don't see how that happened.

But then I went back and read my blog, and found that last semester was only slightly more exciting, because I blogged about food I ate, accounting, cleaning, and other various uneventful things.

Also, I took pictures.  Which clearly makes everything more exciting.  So...here's to taking more pictures of the uneventful, to blog more about the uneventful happenings of life.

Because as of now, all I blog about is...about how I don't blog.  So, that's cool, right?

8:45

I don't have anything to write about until something different happens.  Today, something different happened.  Don't get too excited though.

Instead of waking up to my alarm, and not wanting to get out of bed, I just somehow didn't wake up at all.  My first class was half over, so I just got ready and shot to make up by my second class.  Alexis and I take the bus together usually, so I thought she was gone...but I walked into the living room to find her still sitting at the apartment.

"We're real good at life." -Alexis.

I head over to the bus, and realize I left my phone at my apartment, which makes me feel like I am missing an important part of myself.

So, it's not even 10 AM, and it's already that kind of day.

But you know what, it's actually not that bad.  And hey, a little variety is nice.
